Embroidered Linen and Burlap Sign

Spring is definitely in the air. The next five days say sunny and at least in the 40's...that's a heat wave for us around Chicago. My tulips in front of my house are already coming up!

In the spirit of Spring, I did up these Burlap and linen embroidered Spring signs. I stuffed them with some cotton and added a wood leaf button.

My baby seems kinda aloof to the whole thing.  Quietly reading by the bookcase. Ok. Probably not reading, but definitely paging through ALL of our books.

You can make your own Spring sign or you can grab one from my shop here.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!  What are you going to do?

Happy New Year!! Getting a Handle on things?

Andrew surprised me with new handles for our refinished cabinet on New Year's Day.  We painted it some years ago, and I had even forgot it had handles to begin with.

I believe he made these out of Cherry wood, but I may have to get back to you on that one.
This was a drawer the whole time!!

Our newly handled cabinet. Yea!! (Couldn't get a good picture with my camera, but it's Beautiful now!)

With the Holiday's keeping everyone so busy, it's nice to sit down and return to my blog. I hope everyone had a good time on New Year's.  I have lots of great ideas to share with you in 2011.

We have a winner! Congratulations!

Congratulations to Shenais Bock of Portland, OR for winning the Reclaimed Firewood Bench from our Spotlight on Greeneyed.com.

And, of course, Anthropologie has done it again.  Check out one of their newest necklaces below.  I know I can totally make this.  Anyone else up to the challenge?  I will post the image of mine sometime soon.

Joiner's Tool Box

Andrew made this Joiner's tool box out of 200-300 year old Chestnut wood.  It has a Walnut Danish oil finish.
Each end holds a clamp.
All sectioned off and organized, this Joiner's tool box will carry the Handplanes, Saws, Chisels etc.. safely to and from the job.

Shaker Silverware Tray

 Ahh...handmade...

My husband, Andrew, made this Shaker Silverware Tray for me...and I love it!!
Hand cut dovetails and a hand planed surface.  This is perfect for transporting food and drinks.  This he made out of Cherry.
