Butterfly Mobile

Happy Last day of August!
For those going back to school, good luck!
I saw a mobile online similar to this on Prudent Baby.com.   I had leftover scrapbook paper and I found a twig when we went to the beach recently.  I've had the beads since I was a kid.  I grabbed a ribbon out of the scrap box.   A thread and needle and your there.  I really enjoyed making this, and the little one was ecstatic.  It's going in her room.
She's really been enjoying her tea set that she got from her cousin.  I had to keep her busy while I made this.

Baked Ziti

Who doesn't love baked pasta...especially one this easy.
 Ingredients:
8oz cooked Ziti noodles
3/4 lb Ground beef or sausage, cooked with a garlic clove minced
1 1/4 Cups of Cottage Cheese
1 Egg
2 cups of Mozzarella cheese
1/2 Tbsp Parsley
Salt
Pepper
1 Jar Marinara Sauce
Digging in!
Directions:
Mix Cottage Cheese, Egg, parsley, Salt and pepper.  In a separate bowl, mix together pasta, meat, and sauce.  Layer half of this mixture on the bottom of a greased dish. Top with cottage cheese mix, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.  Layer another of the noodles.  Top with more cheese.  Cover with foil, and bake at 350F degrees for 25-30 min.  Take off foil and bake an additional 3 or so minutes to brown a bit of the cheese.

I hope you like it.
Anthropologie
This is the Circle blooms framed art on Anthropolgie for $698.  Shew....but I think this is something me and my little girl could make together!  I'm picturing a round foam brush, .25cents? and some paints I already have. $0.  And a sheet of paper....$0.01cents?  I think we can manage it.

Which rug would you pick?

Retro Steamed Coffee Towel

I hope everyone is having a good week.  Life can be hectic, and well, plain hard.  There are many joys in my life that I remind myself of, then give my daughter a hug and dive into a little small something creative.  This one I did in an hour.  It's like I just had to do this, so all would be right in the world. Kinda like cooking...or especially baking!  I'm not that good at it, but it totally changes my mood.  I think I'll make another loaf of bread....

Anyway...on to the towel.

I used freezer paper and drew my stencil. I cut it out carefully with an exacto knife. I ironed it on in pieces.
I painted it in Red and waited 30 minutes to peel it off.  I then waited a few hours and ironed it with a cloth over top.
I really like how it turned out.  Retro...and I love coffee!

So many possibilities! What would you want stenciled on your towel?
