Butterfly Mobile

Happy Last day of August!
For those going back to school, good luck!
I saw a mobile online similar to this on Prudent Baby.com.   I had leftover scrapbook paper and I found a twig when we went to the beach recently.  I've had the beads since I was a kid.  I grabbed a ribbon out of the scrap box.   A thread and needle and your there.  I really enjoyed making this, and the little one was ecstatic.  It's going in her room.
She's really been enjoying her tea set that she got from her cousin.  I had to keep her busy while I made this.

Embroidered Pillow Case

Brooke's new pillowcase
I have two twin nieces who just turned 3.  I hope they liked these.  I embroidered each with their name.
Once they are washed, they'll look really great. I love how embroidery thread pops.  It is made of rayon, instead of cotton, so they have a nice sheen.

We're also introducing our newest item at our Chicago Bench Etsy Shop.
Possibly my favorite part! One block of this tree.
Our Doug Fir Modern Rustic Lamp.  My husband made it from one piece of reclaimed Doug fir.  You can see the tree rings so clearly.  It's beautiful! You can check it out more here.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. What did you do?

From Plain Jane...to Night out!

Plain shirt
I've been looking at my closet at the same old stuff. I grabbed one of my plain V Neck shirts and added an applique.

Sewing on the Applique
I keep a stash of buttons, so I grabbed some of those.

Finished!
I believe I paid $5.99 for this shirt; now its looks like more.
Love this!
