Painted Pillow Nest Copy

I recently got an email from The Nest for their new magazine.  Page 4 was my inspiration for this painted pillow.
You can see The Nests magazine 2011 issue for free hereThe Nest

I quickly made a pillowcase out of leftover curtain material and put in a pink zipper that I had.  (and no, I didn't break out my zipper foot for my machine...I just winged it with the b foot)
Swiper no swipee!
I grabbed the acrylic and fabric paint colors, I had on hand, and used a foam brush to make my paint swipes.  I let it dry and then put a cloth over top and ironed it to seal the paint.  Now I can wash it if need be and the paint should stay true to its color.

Then I stuffed it with the poly-stuffing and zipped it close.   Viola!
My baby loves the park!  The weather had been particularly nice as of late.  She loves the swing here too!

And wants to start driving soon!
Mommy, can I take this home?
How have you been enjoying your summer?

Cucumbers are in season, and these make a great appetizer or addition to a meal.

Fresh Focaccia (I made mine in my bread machine and then baked it)
2 Tbsps Olive Oil
3 Ounces of Feta
1/2 Tsp Lemon Juice
Salt and Pepper
1 Small Cucumber,sliced thin.

Directions:
In a small bowl, mash together feta, 1 Tbsp oil, and lemon juice with a fork. Season with salt and pepper. Spread feta mixture evenly over Focaccia.  Add cucumber slices over top.  Drizzle more olive oil, lemon and salt and pepper over top.  Serve.
A very tasty treat.
